About Me
Steve Wernikoff is a partner in the Chicago office of Honigman LLP and co-leads the firm’s Data, Privacy and Cybersecurity practice group. Steve regularly assists clients on a broad spectrum of legal issues involved in privacy, data security, advertising, marketing, and other consumer protection matters. Prior to joining Honigman, Steve spent 17 years at the Federal Trade Commission and led investigations and litigation involving a wide range of e-commerce and emerging technology issues, including internet and mobile advertising, financial fraud, privacy, and telemarketing. Steve has taught classes at Northwestern University School of Law and Washington University Law School on consumer law, online advertising and privacy. Steve earned a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and a B.A. in Journalism from Pennsylvania State University.
